6x(6x) + 11x - 35 = 0
36x^2 + 11x - 35 = 0
36x^2 + 11x = 35

-11 + or -  square root 11^2 - 4 (36) (-35)
                      divided by
                         2 * 36

-11 + or - square root 5161
                   divided by
                        72

-11 + or - 71.84
     divided by
          72

There are two answers to the problem:
-11 + 71.84 / 72 = -10 rounded
-11 - 71.84 / 72 = -12. rounded

Korolek [52]

Answer:

<DAB= 98

Step-by-step explanation:

Remark

I think you are supposed to assume that this is a parallelogram. In that case the two labeled angles are intended to be equal (one of the properties of a parallelogram).

Equation

2x + 36 = 3x - 5                    Add 5 to both sides

2x + 36 + 5 = 3x  - 5 + 5      Combine

2x + 41 = 3x                          Subtract 2x from both sides

2x - 2x + 41 = 3x - 2x           Combine

41 = x

Answer

<DAB = 2x + 36

<DAB = 2*41 + 36

<DAB = 82 + 36

<DAB = 98

$120 because the fencing of the patio would use up eight squares and each square in the picture is 3 meters so we would need 24 meters of fencing to cover up the entire patio. Since it cost $5 for one meter, 5*24 is $120.
