Find the difference between the terms a10 of an arithmetic sequence and a geometric sequence, both of which
Nady [450]

Answer:-288

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

First term a_0  is common for both AP and GP

For AP

a_2=4=a_0+2d---1

a_4=12=a_0+4d----2

From 1 & 2 we get

d=4

a_0=-4

a_{10} for AP

a_{10}=a_0+10d=-4+10\times 4=36

For GP

4=a_0r^2----3

12=a_0r^4----4

From 3 & 4 we get

3=r^2

r=\sqrt{3}

a_0=\frac{4}{3}

For a_{10}=\frac{4}{3}\times 3^5=324

AP_{a_{10}}-GP_{a_{10}}=36-324=-288

You measure two quantities as A=1.0m±0.2m, B=2.0m±0.2m. We should report correct value for

AB

as

Medium

Solution

Correct option is

D

1.4m±0.2m

Here, A=1.0m±0.2m, B=2.0m±0.2m

AB=(1.0m)(2.0m)=2.0m

=1.414m

Rounding off to two significant figures, we get

Simplify (xy)^-3/(x^-5y)^3
Nesterboy [21]
Use:\\\\(a\cdot b)^n=a^n\cdot b^n\\\\a^n:a^m=a^{n-m}\\\\\left(a^n\right)^m=a^{n\cdot m}\\\\a^{-n}=\left(\frac{1}{a}\right)^{n}\\==================================\\\frac{(xy)^{-3}}{(x^{-5}y)^3}=\frac{x^{-3}y^{-3}}{(x^{-5})^3y^3}=\frac{x^{-3}y^{-3}}{x^{-15}y^3}=x^{-3-(-15)}y^{-3-3}=\boxed{x^{12}y^{-6}=\frac{x^{12}}{y^6}}

How do you ungroup a 3 digit number? My nephew is working on his homework and I have no clue how to help him.
Talja [164]

In monetary terms, you're making change. If you need more ones, you trade one 10 for 10 ones.

When I was in school, many years ago, we used small superscript-type numbers to show this:

  7 3 0 ⇒ 7 2 ¹0 . . . . regrouping to gain 10 ones

  7 2 ¹0 ⇒ 6 ¹2 ¹0 . . .regrouping again to gain 10 more tens

You'd have to look at the example problems that precede this page in order to see what the meaning of "magnifying glass" is.
