Hi !!

pride is an odd word because it has two meanings

a- dignity, self respect

b- egoism, arrogance, vanity, narcissism

So pride has two opposite meanings =

- either an excessive belief in one's own superiority, an exaggerated opinion of one self

<em>OR</em>

- either  belief in oneself, proper respect of some one worth as a person.
