The Second Amendment (December, 1791) addresses people's right to protect themselves, and to establish a Militia good and strong enough to secure the nation. It was created in more hostile times when the Founding Fathers feared that their newly formed government could become as tyrannical as Great Britain government was and foreign nations could attack the U.S, so they deemed necessary that the country and the people could be prepared for self-defense.
