13. Dr. Jones took out a loan for a new medical instrument cleaning system. The interest paid on the loan was $650. The loan was
Ivan
Given that the loan is paid for 24 months or 2 years and the interest rate is 2.75% which is $650. In order for us to find the amount that Dr. Jones borrowed, let us put it this way. ? x 0.0275 = 650. So we divide 650 by 0.0275 and the answer is 23,636.36. Hope this answers your question.

If 0°<0<90° and sin0=12/13, find cos0 using trigonometric identities.
Aleks04 [339]

here's the solution,

we know :

\sin( \theta)  =  \dfrac{perpendicular}{hypotenuse}

So,

\dfrac{p}{h}  =  \dfrac{12}{13}

so.. let the perpendicular be 12x and hypotenuse be 13x

now,

by applying pythagoras theorem,

  • b {}^{2}  = h {}^{2}  - p {}^{2}

where,

  • b = base
  • h = hypotenuse
  • p = perpendicular

So,

  • b {}^{2}  =  ({13x})^{2}  -  ({12x})^{2}
  • b  {}^{2} = 169x {}^{2}  - 144x {}^{2}
  • {b}^{2}  = 25x {}^{2}
  • b  = 5x

so,

  • \cos( \theta)  =  \dfrac{b}{h}

  • \cos( \theta)  =   \dfrac{5x}{13x}

  • \cos( \theta)  =  \dfrac{5}{13}

hope it helps !!

or security reasons, a company will enclose a rectangular area of 11,200 m2 in the rear of its plant. One side will be bounded
pychu [463]

The dimensions of the rectangle are 150 m and 75 m respectively.

Let x be the length of the rectangular area and y be the width of the rectangular area.

Its area A = xy

Given that its area is 11,000 m², xy = 11000 m² (1)

Also, since the bounding side of the building is 150 m long and the fencing is 300 m, the perimeter of the rectangular area is P = 150 m + 300 m = 450 m.

Also, the perimeter of the rectangular area is P = 2(x + y)

Since P = 450 m

2(x + y) = 450 m

x + y = 225 m (2)

Since the bounding side of the building represents one dimension of the rectangle, x = 150 m.

Substituting x into (2), we get the other dimension

x + y = 225

150 + y = 225

y = 225 m - 150 m

y = 75 m

So, the dimensions of the rectangle are 150 m and 75 m respectively.
