Answer:

Magnitude

Explanation:

Earthquakes are typically measured in units of magnitude. The news usually use the most popular measurement scale called the Richter Scale which rates an earthquake by the size of its seismic waves on a scale from 1 to 10.

Ex. Mexico had a 7.1 magnitude earthquake

Hope this helps :)

Magnitude is the unit of measurement used to describe the severity of an earth quake

Explanation:

Magnitude is the figure that relates to the amplitude of a given earthquake. The activity is most commonly measured with something called as a Richter scale and the most severe ones are over 7 magnitude. There will be thirty times greater energy when the magnitude goes up by one unit.

There are different formulas to determine the magnitude in different types of earthquakes. For eg, if an earthquake that occurred farther than 600km, a formula known as the body wave magnitude can be utilized.

3.Why should a model of the carbon cycle include the burning of fossil fuels?(1 point)
-Dominant- [34]

Burning fossil fuels moves carbon from the geosphere to the atmosphere.

Explanation:

A carbon cycle is a model that indicates how carbon is cycled across the spheres of the earth. Burning of fossil fuels is part of this cycle indicating movement of carbon from the geosphere – since fossil fuels are derived from the geosphere (the rocks of the crust) - to the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. Again this carbon will cross over to the biosphere when taken up by plants from the atmosphere during photosynthesis

Which of the following best describes the term cleavage? a. Cleavage describes the quality and amount of light reflected from a
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

Cleavage is the splitting of minerals along natural planes of weakness

Explanation:

There are different physical features of a mineral that are used in the identification of species of fossils. The characteristics may include hardness, Fracture, tenacity, and, cleavage. The cleavage, therefore, occurs as a result of the strengthening of the weaker bonds and the greater lattice spacing that exist in the plane. The lattice accompanies the more fragile relationship along with the place because the link cannot maintain interatomic spacing.

The property of cleavage and positioning of fracture derived from structural species of the crystals.

andrey2020 [161]

To date, the majority of neandertal fossils have been found in Europe and western Asia.

There may have been little direct contact between neanderthals and modern humans over thousands of years. They might have contributed to the Neanderthals' impending extinction by preventing them from going back to the areas they liked best.

Around 40,000 years ago, all traces of Neanderthals vanished. The most recent Neanderthal fossils have been found at a few isolated locations in western Europe and the Near East, which was probably the last known location for this early human species.
