Since the ground floor has 52 windows, and every floor, here are 6 fewer windows than the floor below it, we make a expression.

52-y=x.

We are trying to solve for x, not y.

In order to get 'y,' you have to multiply 8 by 6. Which is going to be 48.

(If you don't know multiplication, respectively.)

So now that we solved for y, =48 .... 52-48= ....... = x

Now all we have to do is simply subtract.

x=4.

So the answer to the problem is 4 windows on the 8th floor.

Y = x^2+ 7x - 5 can be written in the form y = (x + a)^2+b
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a parabola in vertex form is

y = (x - h)² + k (h, k) are the coordinates of the vertex

Given y = x² + 7x - 5

To express in vertex form use the method of completing the square

add/subtract ( half the coefficient of the x- term )²

y = x² + 2( \frac{7}{2} )x +\frac{49}{4} - \frac{49}{4} - 5

y = (x + \frac{7}{2} )² - \frac{49}{4} - \frac{20}{4}

y = (x + \frac{7}{2} )² - \frac{69}{4}

Hence

a = \frac{7}{2} and b = - \frac{69}{4}

Solve the equations and graph the solution
jenyasd209 [6]

Given:

The inequalities are:

-5x or 2x

To find:

The solution for the given inequalities and graph the solution.

Solution:

We have,

-5x or 2x

Solve the above inequalities separately.

-5x

Divide both sides by -5.

x>\dfrac{-3}{-5}

x>\dfrac{3}{5}             ...(i)

And,

2x

Divide both sides by 2.

x

x                       ...(ii)

From (i) and (ii). we get

x or x>\dfrac{3}{5}

The interval notation of the solution is (-\infty,-4)\cup \left(\dfrac{3}{5},\infty\right).

The graph of the solution is shown below.
