If you would want to race your friend in opposite directions it would be better to race towards land because the wind would be coming off the waves and it would be harder to run towards wind than having it behind you. So you would rather run towards land because the wind will be behind you and helping you proceed forward! You could use the wind for your own benifit and have it behind you helping you move forward a lot easier than your friend who is going agianst the wind! So the correct answer would be running towards the land!
