c) For the high jump, each competitor receives multiple opportunities to clear the bar at each height. On average, Shane complet

es 2 out of 3 jumps on the lowest bar, 4 out of 6 jumps on the middle bar, and 1 out of 4 jumps on the highest bar. Write an equation that you could use to find Shane’s overall average number of jumps completed. Calculate Shane’s average using the equation. (2 points)

To find the average, add the number of jumps they make and divide that by the number of jumps they attempt.

Jumps made = 2 + 4 + 1 = 7

Jumps attempted = 3 + 6 + 4 = 13

You can write the equation by separating the jumps made and divide by the attempts like this:

(2 + 4 + 1) / (3 + 6 +4) = 7/13 = 0.538

The average is 0.538 (Round off as needed)

Answer:

Average number of jumps on lowest bar = 3/2 = 1.5

Average number of jumps on middle bar = 6/4 = 1.5

Average number of jumps on highest bar = 4/1 = 4

Overall average number of jumps = 3/2 + 6/4 + 4/1 = 7

Overall average number of jumps = 1/probability of complete the lowest bar +1/probability of complete the middle bar + 1/probability of complete the highest bar

Equations of Shane’s overall average number of jumps completed = x * (7/13), where x is the total number of overall jumps

Rodney had 7 toffees MORE than Micah. Micah’s father then gave him 2 more toffees. How many toffees more than Micah would Rodney
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

Rodney will have 9 toffees more than Micah.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numbr of toffee Micah have = x

So, the number of toffee Rodney have = x + 7.

Since, Micah's father gave him 2 more toffees.

Then, number of toffee Micah now have = x + 2

So, number of toffees Rodney will have = (x+7) + 2 = x + 9.

Hence, Rodney will have 9 toffees more than Micah.

for the function f(x) = –(x 1)2 4, identify the vertex, domain, and range. the vertex is (–1, 4), the domain is all real numbers
stira [4]
F(x) = -(x + 1)^2 + 4
Vertex = (-1, 4)
Domain is all real numbers.
Range is f(x) <= 4

How do I simplify this expression
(4x-y) (4x+y)
Oxana [17]

Answer:

16^2 - y^2

Step-by-step explanation:

First you need to distribute the (4x - y) to the other numbers. So we'll distribute it one by one, to make it easier. So taking the 4x from (4x - y), you need to distribute it to (4x + y). So 4x × 4x is 16^2. That's the first part, now we need to distribute the 4x to the positive y, which is 4xy. Now we work on the negative y from (4x - y). Distribute the -y to (4x + y). So -y × 4x = -4xy, and -y × y = -y^2. So now you should have the numbers, 16x^2 + 4xy - 4xy - y^2. The positive 4xy and negative 4xy cancel out so that would just be 0, so you can take that out. Now you should have 16^2 - y^2, and that's the simplified expression.

An accounting professor wants to know the average GPA of the students enrolled in her class. She looks up information on Blackbo
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

a) True

b) Parameter

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

An accounting professor wants to know the average GPA of the students enrolled in her class.

Population:

  • It is defined as the collection of all variables of interest.
  • A sample of individuals of interest is drawn from a population.

For the given case

Individuals of interest:

Students enrolled in accounting class

Population of interest:

Students enrolled in accounting class

Characteristic of interest:

Average GPA of the students enrolled in her class.

a) The population is all students enrolled in the accounting class.

The given statement is true as it contains all the observation of all the individuals of interest.

b) The computed average GPA of all the students enrolled in the class is 3.29

Statistic is a descriptive measure that describes a sample where as a parameter is a measure that describes the population.

Since 3.29 is the average of all the students enrolled in her class that is the average GPA of population.

Thus, 3.29 is a parameter.
