r continuously. What effect might this have on their ability to digest fats?
A. There will be very little change since bile will still be present to emulsify fats.

B. Fats will be emulsified more efficiently with the constant flow of digestive enzymes.

C. It will be unlikely that they will be able to emulsify and digest fats.

D. Only small amounts of fats will get digested since high concentrations of bile enzymes are needed for efficient digestion.

Answer:

A. There will be very little change since bile will still be present to emulsify fats.

Explanation:

The gallbladder is a pear-shaped storage sac present in the alimentary canal of humans and functions to store excess bile in between meals. The bile is a greenish-yellow substance composed of different substances like salts, bile pigments, cholesterol etc. The bile is produced in the liver and aids in the digestion of fats.

The gallbladder serves as an intermediary between the organ of bile production (liver) and its destination (intestine). According to the question, once the gallbladder is removed, there is no longer a place to store bile. However, bile will still be produced by the liver and released directly into the intestine instead.

Hence, the bile will still be present to perform its function of emulsifying fats with little changes in the way it is released into the intestine. Note that, the gallbladder only regulates the speed at which the bile is released into the intestine.

Which of the following statements is true?
Lelu [443]

Answer:

The true statement is: "Spring tides are the highest, while neap tides are the lowest."

Explanation:

 • The range of difference in the level of water between high and low tide is always larger in spring tide.
 • Neap tides are the moderate tides. It does not have huge difference in higher and low tides because the bulging of the ocean ( by the sun) balances the bulge of the ocean caused by the moon.
 • This balance is not found in spring tides that is the main reason for spring tides to have the highest level for both higher and lower tides.

Radda [10]

Archaea differ from bacteria in that archaea lack peptidoglycan.

What about archaea and bacteria?

 • Although archaea lack internal membranes, they do have a cell wall and swim by using flagella.
 • The difference between bacteria and archaea is that bacteria have an ester-linked cell membrane, while archaea have an ether-linked cell membrane.
 • Organelles and other internal membrane-bound structures are not present in the cells of bacteria and archaea.
 • In contrast to eukaryotes, bacteria and archaea do not have a nucleus that separates their genetic material from the rest of the cell.
 • Similar to Eubacteria, Archaea have a polysaccharide and glycoconjugate-rich cell wall.
 • The strong cell borders that archaea form despite not having peptidoglycan make them resistant to high internal osmotic pressure.

Peripheral chemoreceptors (the carotid and aortic bodies) can sense hypercapnia (high CO2) and then they send a signal to the breathing centre. Breathing centre is in medulla oblongata which regulates breathing movements. When CO2 reaches a certain level, a signal is sent to trigger an inhalation and the rate of breathing is increased.
