Mutations are changes in nucleotide sequence. Some are neutral because whatever amino acid substitutions they cause do not serio

usly affect the final protein. A frameshift mutation, however, can change a protein's function. To what does the frame and frameshift refer? Is it A: to a shift from the DNA framework to the RNA framework, or is it B: a shift in nucleotide groupings?

Answer:

The correct answer is B: a shift in nucleotide groupings

Explanation:

Frameshift mutation is caused by the addition or deletion of base pairs in the protein-coding regions of DNA during replication. Nucleotides are arranged in a group of three which are called codons that code for a particular amino acid during protein formation.

This translational reading frame of codon disrupts when any nucleotide gets added in the reading frame or gets subtracted from it because it cause the shifting of the translational reading frame.

This shift in nucleotide group can lead to the formation of inactive protein or functionally changed protein. Therefore the correct answer is B.

¿Dónde se encuentran los microorganismos? ¿Los microorganismos son signos de enfermedad?
Ilya [14]

Answer:

Microorganisms can be found both in the external environment  (ecosystem) and the internal environment (microflora) of higher organisms.

Explanation:

Microorganisms (microbes) are microscopic forms of life that include bacteria, protists, fungi and animal species, these organisms can se differentiated by using laboratory techniques such as the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) or by microscopes. These organisms are both beneficial and both beneficial and pathogenic for humans. For example, the microflora may be useful in digesting nutrients contained in the food. On the other hand, <em>Plasmodium falciparum</em> is a pathogen microorganism that is found in the digestive system of mosquitoes and cause malaria in humans.

The nitrogen base pairs in the DNA molecule are adenine and
Mila [183]

Answer:

Explanation:

The four nitrogenous bases are A, T, C, and G. They stand for adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine. The four different bases pair together in a way known as complementary pairing. Adenine always pairs with thymine, and cytosine always pairs with guanine.

What molecules are made during transcription
Softa [21]

Answer:

During transcription, only one strand of DNA is usually copied. This is called the template strand, and the RNA molecules produced are single-stranded messenger RNAs (mRNAs). The DNA strand that would correspond to the mRNA is called the coding or sense strand
