Antioxidants help cells perform their functions against something called free radicals. Free radicals are molecules that happen to be produced when your body breaks down food and/or when you inhale or are exposed to tobacco products. These molecules play a role in leading to diseases such as; Heart disease and cancer. When plants synthesize, they collect many non-enzymatic Antioxidants like ascorbic acid and phenolic. Since plants have many more sites of ROS generation, Therefore, they could evolve more efficient non-enzymatic Antioxidant systems than humans because of their high intake and exposure to oxygen. Having a balanced diet helps your cells to happily work and produce energy for your daily use. A balanced diet supplies your body with nutrients so it can work effectively.
