Can someone please tell me a super short summary of The Outsiders (without spoilers)?

Ponyboy, the main character, is a greaser. There are greasers and socs. Ponyboy has a lot of trouble, as he has no parents, just his brothers. One day, he gets in a fight with them, then runs away with his friend. The friend does something bad, so now they are in hiding. Later, the spot they were hiding in caught fire, and thy saved some children while getting injured. The friend broke his back, and he is in bad condition. Everything starts turning out worse, one of the other friends commits suicide. The ending is pretty good, read the book.

The narrator tries to dissuade his neighbors from believing  in the lightining rod man, Melville believes in a God full of love and not in a God or religion imposed by fear.
