Answer:

The probability that students will passing at least on course=0.80.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that  a student is taking two courses, history and math.

The probability the student will pass the history course =P(A)=0.60

The probability that the student will pass the math course=P(B)=0.70

The probability that the students will pass the both course=P(A\cap B)=0.50

We have to find the probability that student passing at least one course. It means we have to find the probability of (A\cup B)

We know that formula

P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)

Using the formula we get

P(AUB)=0.60+0.70-0.50=0.80

The probability that students will passing at least on course=0.80.

If possible could you explain how to get the answer if not it is ok.
Softa [21]

Rules of exponents come in hand here.

Multiplication rule: a^m x a^n = a^ m+n

Division rule: a^m / a^n = a^m-n

Negative exponent: a^-m = 1/a^m; 1a^-m =a^m

So it would be (-3)^7+5 / (-3)^-2; (-3)^12 / (-3)^-2; (-3)^12 x (-3)^2; (-3)^14

The answer is (-3)^14. If you multiply it out it is 4,782,969.
