When my mom was a teenager she took "Cueca" dance classes. Cueca is a very popular type of dance in Chile, the country where she is from. To dance Cueca there has to be a couple dancing together. She took classes in a building near her house and sometimes her class put up shows for the public. These shows could be anywhere: at the beach, at a stage, at the park, wherever!

I actually just read this book in class.... Ponyboy can't just grasp the idea that johnny is in critical condition. The news reporters keep asking the gang questions about everything Darry is also in the hospital... pony doesn't feel too good for the rumble but still wants to go cause he "can't miss it"

Lyddie doesn't sign the petition, because she is afraid of the consequences of that action.  By signing the petition, she would publicly be associating with it and those workers.  She runs the risk of being fired from her current job and blacklisted from the other mills.  Lyddie cannot let that happen.  She desperately needs the paycheck in order to pay back the debt that her family owes.
