In 125 words, explain how you think the Nazis were able to justify their actions?
N76 [4]

Answer: referring to the superiority of the nordic and germanic race in terms of body and in terms of spirit.

Explanation:

superiority of nordic, germanic or caucasian race was not completely new idea and was not 100% German. Germany was a young nation which has been recently unified. There was a lack of unity and also frustration as a consequence of the Great War. Nationalism and anti-semitism were great vehicles for nazis because they enabled them to refer to great German figures like Goethe, Wagner, Nietzsche. Idea of nordic superiority and a special destiny was the main drive, but this idea was not 100% German. It had a lot to do with Italian sociology of elites, social darwinism, discovery of unconscious drives etc.
