Explain why a system of three equations in three variables can have infinitely many solutions

Mathematics

3 0

we know that

we will get solution of three system of equations when intersects at one point

For example:

x+2y-3z=-3

2x-5y+4z=13

5x+4y-z=5

These three system of equations has one solutions

so, it has unique solution

that is (2, -1 , 1)

And when planes are lying on one another

then we can get infinite solutions

For example:

x+2y-3z=-3

2x+4y-6z=-6

5x+4y-z=5

So, we will get value of x and y in terms of z

and z can be any value

so, x and y can also be any values

that's why there would be infinite number of solutions

How do I find the Axis of Symmetry for a parabola
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

Explanation given below.

Step-by-step explanation:

The first step is to put the parabola in the form  ax^2+bx+c , which is the <em>standard form of a parabola</em>

<em />

<u>Note:</u> a is the coefficient before x^2 term, b is the coefficient before x term, and c is the independent constant term

The axis of symmetry divides the parabola symmetrically. The axis of symmetry has the equation  x=-\frac{b}{2a}

Where <em><u>a and b are the respective values shown above</u></em>

<em><u /></em>

So, that is how you get the axis of symmetry of any parabola.

There are 30 boys in a sporting club. 20 of them play hockey and 15 play volleyball. Each boys plays at least one of the two gam
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

<em>5 boys play all the two games</em>

<em>25 boys play only one game</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Sets</u>

There are two sets defined in the question: one for the boys who play hockey (H) and the other for the boys who play volleyball (V).

All the boys play at least one of the two games, so no elements are outside both sets.

There are 30 boys in total. 20 of them play hockey and 15 play volleyball. Since the sum of both numbers is greater than the total of boys, the difference corresponds to the boys who play both games.

Thus 20 + 15 - 30 = 5 boys play both games

Given that 5 boys are shared by both sets, from the 20 playing hockey, 15 play ONLY hockey. From the 15 boys playing volleyball, 10 play ONLY volleyball.

Thus 15 + 10 = 25 boys play only one game.

The Venn diagram is shown in the image.

a new line is drawn through the point (-3,6) and perpendicular to the line with x-intercept (3,0) and y intercept (0,3) . what i
Klio2033 [76]

Answer:

The equation of the new line is y=x+9  or  y-6=(x+3)

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find out the slope of the line with x-intercept (3,0) and y intercept (0,3)

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

substitute the values

m=\frac{3-0}{0-3}=-1

step 2

Find the slope of the new line perpendicular to the given line

we know that

If two lines are perpendicular,then their slopes are opposite reciprocal (the product of their slopes is equal to -1)

m_1*m_2=-1

we have

m_1=-1 ----> slope of the given line

so

m_2=1 ---> slope of the new line

step 3

Find the equation of the new line in point slope form

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

we have

m=1

(x_1,y_1)=(-3,6)

substitute

y-6=(1)(x+3)

y-6=(x+3) ----> equation in point slope form

Convert to slope intercept form

y=mx+b

isolate the variable y

y=x+3+6

y=x+9

Help please<br> —<br> geometry/trig
Svetach [21]

Answer:

16.26

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the angle of C, use the inverse sine function.

Sin^{-1}(sin c) = Sin^{-1} \frac{7}{25}\\\\c = Sin^{-1} \frac{7}{25}\\\\c = 16.26

Type into your calculator 7/25 = 0.28. Then type the sin^{-1} key to find 16.26 degrees.
