Answer: The conflict in this story is that slaves were going through torture and persecution from the Masters, overseers, and the Drivers. According to the text ''then, many of the people were captured for Slavery'' it also states ''The slaves labored in the fields from sunup to sundown.'' If the slaves did the slightest thing wrong they got whipped the slaves were downgraded. Sarah's baby was crying the Master told her to shut the baby up. The baby was hungry but Sarah had no food so the Master whipped the baby with a whip. The Whip cut deep into the baby's skin.
