Yeah, these are tough.

When the plane is flying in the same direction as the wind,
the wind helps it cover ground faster.

Plane + Wind = 460 mph

When the plane is flying opposite to the wind, the wind makes it
cover ground slower.

Plane - Wind = 400 mph

================================

OK.  So far we have

Plane + Wind = 460 mph
Plane - Wind = 400 mph

Add the two equations, and you get

2 Plane + zero = 860 mph

Divide each side by 2:  Plane = 430 mph

Plug that into the first equation:     430mph + Wind = 460 mph

Subtract 430 mph from each side:  Wind = 30 mph

The square it’s self without the side triangles is 132ft^2 and the triangles them selves are 18ft^2.
Since there are 2 triangles both combined would be a total of 36ft^2
The total area of the square is 132ft^2
Total area of one triangle is 18ft^2
Total area is 168ft^2

Side length dimensions:
Square without sides: 12x11 ft
Each triangle: 1/2 12x3

The perimeter of a rectangular field is 372 yards. If the width of the field is 87 yards, what is its length?__yards
worty [1.4K]

ANSWER

The length of the rectangular field is 99 yards

EXPLANATION

Given information

The perimeter of a rectangle field is 372 yards

The width of the field is 87 yards

To find the length of the rectangular field, follow the steps below

Step 1: Write the formula for finding the perimeter of a rectangular field

\begin{gathered} \text{ The perimeter of a rectangular field = 2\lparen l + w\rparen} \\ \text{ where l =length, and w = width} \end{gathered}

Step 2: Substitute the given data into the formula in step 1

\begin{gathered} \text{ Perimeter = 2 \lparen l + w\rparen} \\ \text{ Perimeter = 372 yards} \\ \text{ width = 87 yards} \\ \text{  372 = 2\lparen l + 87\rparen} \\ \text{ Divide both sides by 2} \\ \text{ }\frac{372}{2}\text{ = }\frac{2}{2}(l\text{ + 87\rparen} \\ 186\text{ = l + 87} \\ \text{  subtract 87 from each sides of the equation} \\ \text{ 186 - 87 = l + 87 - 87} \\ \text{  99 = l} \\ l\text{ = 99 yards} \end{gathered}

Hence, the length of the rectangular field is 99 yards

Find functions f and g such that h = g ∘ f. (note: the answer is not unique. enter your answers as a comma-separated list of fun
polet [3.4K]

It is given in the question that

h(x) = (fog)(x) = x^2 -81

And x^2 -81

can also be written as

(x^2 -40) -41

Therefore,

(fog)(x) = (x^2 -40)-41

f(g(x)) = (x^2 -40)-41

That gives,

g(x) = x^2 -40, f(x) = x-41
