Answer:

  • y = 1.8x +53.7
  • 73.5 in 2005

Step-by-step explanation:

The 2-point form of the equation of a line is useful here. It tells you that for the points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) the line can be written as ...

  y = (y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)(x -x1) + y1

For your given points, this is ...

  y = (60.9 -57.3)/(4 -2)(x -2) +57.3

  y = 1.8(x -2) +57.3

  y = 1.8x +53.7 . . . . . simplify

__

For x = 11 (in 2005), the predicted value is ...

  y = 1.8·11 +53.7

  y = 73.5

A bag contains purple marbles and red marbles, 34 in total. The number of purple marbles is 2 more than 3 times the number of re
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

There are 26 purple marbles in the bag.

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, you have to make an expression in terms of x where x represent red marbles. Given that the question says purple marbles is 2 more than 3 times the number of red marbles. So the expression is :

Let red marbles = x,

purple = 2 + 3x

red = x

Next, given that the total marbles in the bag is 34 so you have to add both marbles together and solve the value of x :

2 + 3x + x = 34

4x = 32

x = 32 \div 4

x = 8

Lastly, you have to substitute the value of x into the expression of purple marbles :

Let x = 8,

purpe = 2 + 3(8)

purple = 26

Tourists from a tour bus were asked about places they visited during their stay in a city. The results are shown in the table.
denis23 [38]
So I added all of the numbers of tourists together, I got 30 tourists. Then I saw that the number of tourists that visisted the museum but not the zoo was 5. I divided 5 by 30 and got that there was a 16% chance that a randomly selected tourist would of visited the museum but NOT the zoo.
Hope this helps!

Which product of prime polynomials is equivalent to 3x4 – 81x?
aleksley [76]

Answer:

3x(x – 3)(x2 + 3x + 9)

Step-by-step explanation:

Because 3x4 – 81x=3x4-3x3

and the formula is

a3-b3=(a-b)(a2+ab+b2)

but since here it is 3x4 we put 3x before the formula.

Here's the formula for exponential decay:

A = p(1-k)^t

(where A = new amount, p = principal (starting) amount, k = rate of decay, and t = time)

Let's use what we know and fill in the expression.

0.08 = 0.20(1-0.47)^t

And now we solve for t.

0.08 = 0.20(0.53)^t \\ 0.4 = 0.53^t \\ log0.4=t*log0.53 \\ t = \frac{log0.4}{log0.53} = \boxed{1.44\ hours}
