Explain why margarine is a good source of vitamin A

Elden [556K]

Answer:

Vitamins A and D are added to margarine during production so it will have a similar vitamin level to butter. Nutrients may also be added to foods to fortify or enrich them even if the vitamins and minerals added are not normally contained in that food.Margarine makes an important nutritional contribution to the diet by being a source of one or more essential fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A and/or D and by being low in saturated fat.

Number the steps of the binary fission process in correct order
kari74 [83]

Step 1:

The bacterium cell must copy its DNA so the new cells will have DNA. DNA or, deoxyribonucleic acid, has all of the information the bacterium will need to survive, so it is important it gets copied. The DNA is tightly wound so it is in a neat package called a chromosome.

Steps 2 and 3:

The bacterium now grows larger. This allows for some separation between the two DNA copies that are inside the cell. A division develops in the middle of the bacterium. This division eventually completely divides the bacterium in half. This is called cytokinesis.

Step 4:

Each cell is now called a daughter cell and they separate.

The steps of binary fission

binary fission

Binary fission results in two identical daughter cells. This is a type of asexual reproduction, or creating genetically identical offspring. If humans were able to reproduce using binary fission, it would look something like this: your mother or father would grow larger, and inside all of his or her DNA would be copied. Eventually your parent would split in half creating an identical clone.

Answer:

3,5,6,4,1,2

Explanation:

3.interphase is the first phase of the cell cycle and the longest where the cell grows and prepares for mitosis through dna replication

5.chromosomes form in the first phase of mitosis, prophase

6.chromosomes line up along the equator during the second phase of mitosis, metaphase

4 sister chromatids separate during anaphase

1 two new nuclei form during telphase

As a cell grows, what happens to its surface area to volume ratio? (hint: think of a balloon being blown up). how does this rati
iren [92.7K]
The surface area to volume ratio of the cell decreases.
This decrease is due to the fact that the volume of the cell increases at a greater rate than the surface surrounding the cell, the cell membrane, increases. This change is also visible when we are blowing up a balloon.

When considering the cell division, the ratio remains roughly the same. It is advantageous for the cell to preserve its surface area to volume ratio, since a higher ratio means that substances are able to diffuse into and out of the cell at a fairly higher rate.
