In middlegate, Nevada is known to be the loneliest road with a “Shoe Tree” as a center of attraction on the side of the road.

Further Explanations:

The cottonwood tree or Shoe Tree is just off the Highway 50, and people walking through this road can't deny to visit this peculiar spot. Locals and tourists hang colorful footwear on its branches and was thus named“Shoe tree”. The Shoe tree was unfortunately slashed down by a group of vandals in 2010. However, in 2017, some native citizens started hanging shoes on a new Cottonwood tree nearby, titling it as the new Shoe tree.

The tree has interesting traditional stories behind it. Popular folklore says that a couple living below the tree once had a quarrel, and the wife threatened to leave the husband. The man threw her shoes on the trees, saying that she would have to do it barefoot. After then, he went to a nearby bar where the friendly bartender advised him to go back and reunite with his wife. He returned home and settled his differences with his wife, and after a few years, they had a child. The couple took their child’s shoes and threw them on the tree as a sign of good luck for their family. Since then, the tradition has continued among the people and has spread to tourists alike. The tradition involves binding their footwear to the branch of the tree, and driving the rest of the journey's end ahead, barefoot.

The correct answer is - Shoe Tree.

In Middlegate, Nevada, alongside the so called ''loneliest road in America'', there's a cottonwood tree that has shoes all over its branches. As multiple other places in America where tree are ''ornamented'' with different types of objects, this tree has its own story behind it as well.

A man and a women had an argument. The women said that she would leave, but the man threw her shoes on the tree and told her that she will have to do it barefoot. He than went to a nearby bar, and the bartender convinced him to go back and reconcile, and he did returned, and reconciled with his wife. Few years after, when they had a child, they came back and threw the child's shoes on the tree where they reconciled.
