Answer:

Explanation:

School counselors assist students at all levels, from elementary school to college. They act as advocates for students’ well-being, and as valuable resources for their educational advancement. As a school counselor, you’ll first and foremost listen to students’ concerns. Because everyone’s home and social life is different, you could be the only person who fulfills that need for them at a given time.

You may help students with issues such as bullying, disabilities, low self-esteem, poor academic performance and relationship troubles. You can refer them to a psychologist or mental health counselor for further treatment if necessary. In addition, you’ll evaluate students’ abilities, interests and personalities to help them develop realistic academic and career goals. You’ll facilitate aptitude tests and formulate potential paths to success.

On the job, school counselors:

Listen to students’ concerns about academic, emotional or social problems

Help students process their problems and plan goals and action

Mediate conflict between students and teachers

Improve parent/teacher relationships

Assist with college applications, jobs and scholarships

Facilitate drug and alcohol prevention programs

Organize peer counseling programs

Refer students to psychologists and other mental health resources

Work on academic boards to improve learning conditions

Read the excerpt from “ Crossing Brooklyn Ferry.”
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

<em>A : "The poet is expressing ideas through a loose structure with repetition."</em>

Explanation:

In the excerpt from "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry", you can see the phase, "Just as" repeated through her poem before she further elaborates into her stanzas. Free verses most of the time, or at all, do not rhyme; although that does not mean that free verses are free of structure.

Therefore, using the repeated phrase makes the free verse poem have a loose structure.

According to the excerpt, how does Pepys react to the fire? Did his reaction change over the course of the excerpt?
Murrr4er [49]
That it wasn't important (and he went back to bed!)

"...In the early hours of 2 September 1666, Pepys was woken by his servant who had spotted a fire in the Billingsgate area. He decided the fire was not particularly serious, and returned to bed. Shortly after waking, his servant returned, and reported that 300 houses had been destroyed and that London Bridge was threatened. Pepys went to the Tower to get a better view. Without returning home, he took a boat and observed the fire for over an hour. In his diary, Pepys recorded his observations as follows:
