Answer:

9

Step-by-step explanation:

\tt distance=\sqrt{(1-1)^2+(-4-5)^2}=\sqrt{0^2+9^{2}}=\sqrt{9^2} =9

The formula for distance between two points is:

\sqrt{(x_{2} -x_{1})^{2} + (y_{2} -y_{1})^{2}}

In this case:

x_{2} =1\\x_{1} =1\\y_{2} =-4\\y_{1} =5

^^^Plug these numbers into the formula for distance like so...

\sqrt{(1-1)^{2} + (-4-5)^{2}}

To solve this you must use the rules of PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction)

First we have parentheses. Remember that when solving you must go from left to right

\sqrt{(1-1)^{2} + (-4-5)^{2}}

1 - 1 = 0

\sqrt{(0)^{2} + (-4-5)^{2}}

-4 - 5 = -9

\sqrt{(0)^{2} + (-9)^{2}}

Next solve the exponent. Again, you must do this from left to right

\sqrt{(0)^{2} + (-9)^{2}}

0² = 0

\sqrt{0 + (-9)^{2}}

(-9)² = 81

\sqrt{(0 + 81)}

Now for the addition

\sqrt{(0 + 81)}

81 + 0 = 81

√81

^^^This can be further simplified to...

9

***Remember that the above answers are in terms of units

Hope this helped!

Two spheres have volumes of 8,cm and 647 cmIf the surface area of the smaller sphere is 16 cm?, what is the surface
Olegator [25]

Answer:

361.7cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of sphere 1= 8cm³

=

Volume of sphere 2 = 647cm³

But volume of sphere = 4/3πr³

The radius of sphere 2

647 = 4/3πr³

((3*647)/4)/π= r³

5.36544 = r

Surface area = 4πr²

Surface area for the big sphere

= 4π5.36544²

= 361.7cm²

Please how to answer.
vivado [14]

Answer:

Blue Rectangle: <u>135 mm²</u>

Blue Triangle: <u>45 mm²</u>

<em>Not sure if you need this but the </em>Total Square: <u>225 mm²</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a rectangle: <u>length x width</u>

Area of a triangle: \frac{1}{2}<u> x base x height</u>

First find the area of the blue rectangle.

Length = 15 mm

Width = 9 mm

Area = 135 mm²

Now find the area of the blue triangle:

Base = 6 mm (because the bottom is 15 total and you subtract the 9)

Height = 15 mm

Area = 45 mm²

Hope it helps!
