Taken over by Protestants--Calvert allowed Protestants into the colony eventually leading to a take over.
Calvert wanted a Catholic state but also allowed Protestants access with religious toleration as the colonial rule. However, so many Protestants came to the colony eventually outnumbering the Catholics. As Protestants gained numbers they also gained power and control. They instituted laws against Catholics and they became target of violence and discrimination.
They believed this because the British harshly collected taxes from the poor peasants and forcefully occupied their land which caused wide disturbance in village economy

happened in the year 1787 over a debate regarding the way the states should be
represented. Larger states demanded more representation while the smaller states
thought that it was unfair and the representation should be equal. Roger
Sherman understood that this debate could reach a point where everything would
be destroyed and so he started the process of the Great Compromise.
