I like area questions.

On the left we have a triangle, base apparently 9 cm, height 7 cm.

In the middle it's a 3 cm by 9 cm rectangle.

Then it's a parallelogram, base 9.  We have to figure out the height; it must be 16 - 7 - 3 = 6 cm.

Adding up the areas,

A = (1/2) 9×7 + 3×9 + 6×9 = 112.5 sq cm

Answer: 112.5 sq cm

Solve for x and y:<br> 3/x -1/y =13/10<br> 1/x + 2/y =9/10
harkovskaia [24]

Answer:

  (x, y) = (2, 5)

Step-by-step explanation:

I find it easier to solve equations like this by solving for x' = 1/x and y' = 1/y. The equations then become ...

  3x' -y' = 13/10

  x' +2y' = 9/10

Adding twice the first equation to the second, we get ...

  2(3x' -y') +(x' +2y') = 2(13/10) +(9/10)

  7x' = 35/10 . . . . . . simplify

  x' = 5/10 = 1/2 . . . . divide by 7

Using the first equation to find y', we have ...

  y' = 3x' -13/10 = 3(5/10) -13/10 = 2/10 = 1/5

So, the solution is ...

  x = 1/x' = 1/(1/2) = 2

  y = 1/y' = 1/(1/5) = 5

  (x, y) = (2, 5)

_____

The attached graph shows the original equations. There are two points of intersection of the curves, one at (0, 0). Of course, both equations are undefined at that point, so each graph will have a "hole" there.

The Miguel traces a circle with the radius of 25 cm like the one shown. He will color the shade section what is the area of the
Scilla [17]

Answer: The area of shaded section is 491.07 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Radius of the circle = 25 cm

Now as shown in figure the shaded region is a quadrant.

Therefore the central angle is 90°

Now as we know

Area of sector is given by

Area= \pi r^2 \dfrac{\theta}{360^\circ}  where r is radius and \theta is central angle

So we have

Area = \dfrac{22}{7} \times (25)^2\times \dfrac{90^\circ}{360^\circ} \\\\\Rightarrow Area=  \dfrac{22}{7} \times 625 \times \dfrac{1}{4} \\\\\Rightarrow Area=  \dfrac{11}{7} \times 625 \times \dfrac{1}{2} = 491.07cm^2

Hence, the area of shaded section is 491.07 cm²
