Answer:

The Romans emerged as a small and largely insignificant people in the Italian peninsula around 753 BCE. Romans were also known as Latins, for the language they spoke and the plain where they lived. The city was founded and built on the Tiber River. Rome was ruled as a kingdom during this earlier period, and the limits of its kingdom were confined to a small area of the city of Rome and the surrounding lands. Not much is documented about Rome at this time.

According to Roman tradition, in the year 509 BCE, Rome rebelled against its king and transformed itself into a republic. A republic is a form of government with representatives and not a king. During this period, Rome became a power in the region. Over the next few centuries, the Romans waged a number of wars against other Italian groups on the peninsula, including some Greek city-states. By winning territory from the legendary Greeks, Rome gained respect and power.By the end of the Punic Wars, Rome found itself in control of a vast territory in places around the Mediterranean. Rome’s leaders began to claim more power for themselves around 50 BCE, and by 27 BCE the Republic fell, and an empire under control of the leader was established. The empire was also powerful, but faced more challenges. A combination of corrupt leaders, outside attacks, and just too big an empire to control led to the decline of Rome.

REPORT: SOCIALISM OR FREE ENTERPRISE
andriy [413]

It's clear that one of the systems does not work. Corruption and failure are not strangers to either system, but one of them has a higher success rate to prove its point.

The first argument is pretty simple. Socialism has never worked. From that view, it is pretty clear that empirical evidence suggests that socialism usually ends up turning into an oppressive pseudo capitalist corporatism, as it has happened in South America repeatedly, or it will become a dictatorship, as it has happened in South America, Africa and even to Russia and its neighbor countries.

Socialism, to work, has to have state force using firearms to impose their will upon the others. It smashes the will and freedom of minorities, and by minorities I mean anyone who disagrees with them, and forces them, with the raw and physical power of the State, to behave accordingly.

Capitalism, though, is all about competition and voluntarism when it is not infected with the corrupted politicians that ally themselves with big companies, making an ugly son that we call corporatism. But even when that is the case, people tend to have something to eat, that can't be said about current Venezuela and North Korea.

Martin luther objected to the catholic church use of indulgence or
pshichka [43]

Answer:

When Martin Luther wrote his 95 theses, he was mainly objecting the corruption in the Catholic church, like making the largely poor population pay indulgences, which would forgive you partially or fully of your sin. Martin Luther believed that only the Godhead could truly forgive someone, not a piece of paper from the church. Hope this helps!

1. Explain the concept of Nationalism and what effects Nationalism had during the Age of Revolutions
kap26 [50]

Answer:

The rise and spread of nationalism gave people a new sense of identity and also led to an increased sense of competition among nation-states. Nationalism bonds people together in a way that is not genetic, not biological, and not based on even having a personal connection with other members of your nation. In some ways the idea of a nation is actually an imaginary relationship and nations could be considered imagined communities because so much of the making of a nation is about creating unity and loyalty in our minds. It is not enough to just have a common government to make a nation we must have shared cultural symbols like flags, national anthems, a shared idea of the history of our nations to create and build a community of a nation.
