Part I The ''rogues' gallery'' was the sign given to the photographs in Professional Offenders in America. It introduced photographs of over 7,000 criminals. Police could use certain photos to recognize prisoners, strangely those who may have gone on to other areas.

Part II

The gallery was important because it was a way to register what perpetrators were on record and know what they resembled like.
