Paris thought that since Romeo was exiled from the city on penalty of death, he had come to the Capulet's tomb to dishonour to the corpse of either Tybalt or Juliet. In a fit of sudden anger, Paris confronted Romeo. who pleaded with him to leave, but Paris refused. In the fight, Romeo killed Paris. The dying Paris requested Romeo to be laid near Juliet in the tomb. Romeo consented.
