Mary is a line cook at a restaurant and unknowingly has a highly contagious disease, "Syfoid." She hasn’t shown any symptoms h

erself, but she has passed it through the food she handles to several customers who later died. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) traced the disease back to Mary and order her to "appear for testing and treatment as well as to cease all handling of food." When Mary refuses, the CDC and law enforcement arrive at her home and forcibly take her to a hospital where she is quarantined though she was not charged with any crime. Several months later Mary has still not been released from quarantine because she is still communicable, however, she has never been provided an opportunity to contest her quarantine. In the meantime, Mary lost her job. Has any of Mary’s fundamental rights been violated?
a. No, because she is a threat to the health and safety of the community.
b. Possibly, because she was deprived of her liberty without due process.

Answer: b. Possibly, because she was deprived of her liberty without due process.

Explanation:

Mary has a Constitutional right to due process which means that she should get the opportunity to contest her quarantine. This right is enshrined in the 5th Amendment which asserts that the Federal Government may not deprive a person of their freedoms without due process.

The CDC as a Federal Government arm even when acting in the interest of the people, should give Mary the chance to contest her quarantine so that she may at least see for herself that she might indeed be the source of a deadly disease.

Mr. Jones decides to purchase a car for $10,000. The dealer offers to finance the car at 8% interest. What is the payment amount
algol13

Answer:

$9,200

Explanation:

Mr Jones is expected to pay $9,200. Here is how I came by this amount.

Purchase amount = $10000

Interest rate = 8% is offered by dealer to finance the car.

10,000 of 8%

= 10000 x 0.08

= 800

The purchase amount of 10,000 dollars minus 800

= $9,200

I hope this helps!

Fashion finance jobs focus on the business side of fashion, especially as it relates to product sales. In this role, you may help manage a relationship with buyer or vendor accounts. You also support the overall budget of your corporation by ensuring positive cash flow and help evaluate the financial value of each type of merchandise your company releases. Many details of this position depend on the company. For example, some fashion companies are global, so people in financial positions may have to coordinate information and activities across many parts of the world. This job is generally similar to financial positions in most other industries.

Campbell, a single taxpayer, earns $400,000 in taxable income and $2,000 in interest from an investment in State of New York bon
givi [52]

Answer:

A. Marginal tax rate is 34.02%

B. Marginal tax rate is 33.00%

Step by Step Explanation:

A. If Campbell earns an additional $15,000 of taxable income, her marginal tax rate on the income is 34.02 percent.

Marginal tax rate=Tax/Taxable income

($120,709.05-$115,606.25)=$5,102.8

($415,000 − $400,000)=$15,000

$5102.8/$15,000= 3.401

3.401 ×100= 34.02%

b.If Campbell instead had $15,000 of additional tax deductions, her marginal tax rate on the deductions would be 33.00 percent.

Marginal tax rate=Tax/Taxable income

($110,656.25-$115,606.25)= $4,950

($385,000 -$400,000)= $15,000

$4,950/$42,000= 0.33

0.33×100= 33.00%
