It is a very powerful type of learning that drives a huge part the behavior of people and is very well used because the person the behavior was learned from sort of acts as a precursor for that behavior so that others can then see what happens if they engage in such behavior.

Colin in this instance did not know what benefits he could get from coming to work on time but as soon as one of his co-workers was rewarded for it, he saw the benefits and resolved to emulate the behavior.
