Using imagery can serve to inspire an audience during a speech.

Imagery is a literaty device that consists of descriptive language that can function as a way for the reader to better imagine the world of the piece of literature as well as add symbolism to the work. Imagery draws on the five senses (taste, touch, sight, smell, and sound). Imagery can also refer to details about movement or a sense of a body in motion  or the emotions or sensations of a person, such as fear or hunger. Employing imagery helps the reader develop a more fully realized understanding of the imaginary world that the author has created.

Use the drop-down menus to choose the coordinating conjunction that best connects the two independent clauses.
saw5 [17]

The coordinating conjuctions in English are just three "and, or, but". 'And' is used to add information, 'or' to indicate alternatives, and 'but' to express contrast. These conjuctions link only units of the same level/ status, for example independent clauses.

1° sentence: Carlos put his books in his backpack, and he walked to the library. Here 'and' is appropiate because you need to add information.

2° sentence: My sister loves dogs but my brother prefers cats. 'But' is the correct one to indicate contrast between the two people's preferences.

3° sentence: Dad will make spaghetti for dinner or he will take us out for pizza. 'Or' is the correct one since the independent sentences signal alternatives

An audience never feels the same way as the writer; therefore, the writer should be very careful.
Katena32 [7]
False, the author just has to put enough details and opinions in the text, the the audience can feel what the author feels. That is called authors purpose.

How does Shakespeare let you know the tragic ending of the story right at the very begging?
satela [25.4K]
I believe you are talking about Romeo and Juliet
Shakespeare let you know the tragic ending of the story right at the very beginning since he uses foreshadowing. In Act 2, you can see Romeo having a bad feeling about going to the banquet.
