Discipline could be a more positive and right way to show someone that they did something wrong well punishment is more negative and shows more of a difference on how they handled the situation differently.
The difference between punishment and discipline is discipline is a positive method of showing what somebody did wrong and punishment is a negative method of showing something a person did wrong.
