The part in the story on which the action arises is when Gendel attacks Heorot and at this moment Beowulf was able to defeat and killed him. When Grendel's mother knows it, she was very revengeful and extremely angry to Bewolf. She then went to Beowulf and attack him. It was a very bloody encounter.
