Trajan Officially declared by the Senate optimus princeps ("the best ruler"), Trajan is remembered as a successful soldier-emperor who presided over the greatest military expansion in Roman history, leading the empire to attain its maximum territorial extent by the time of his death. He is also known for his philanthropic rule, overseeing extensive public building programs and implementing social welfare policies, which earned him his enduring reputation as the second of the Five Good Emperors who presided over an era of peace and prosperity in the Mediterranean world

What was the status of US workplace safety laws in 1900?
geniusboy [140]
Absolutely horrendous. There were no Child labor laws, meaning that children would face practical slave labor and unsafe conditions while working in factories. The machines in these factories were anything but safe, and it was not uncommon for someone to lose a finger, and/or die due to an affect of the machine. There were almost no laws in place at this time to change this.

What is one reason John Brown could be considered a hero and one reason he could be considered a villain?
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

One reason John Brown could be considered a hero was that he wanted to end slavery. He was an abolotionist and took action by leading a raid that freed 11 slaves. However, this raid also killed one slave owner.

John Brown could be considered a villian because of this death, the death of five other men during a similar raid.
