Read the following passage and answer the question that follows: Tom Stoppard's play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, dra

ws on two previous theatrical works: Shakespeare's Hamlet and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead follows the "off-stage" exploits of two minor characters from Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. While the two main characters in Stoppard's play occasionally make brief appearances in "Hamlet," as scripted in Shakespeare's original tragedy, the majority of the play takes place in other parts of the castle where Hamlet is set. While "off stage" in this way, the characters resemble the main characters in the absurdist Waiting for Godot. As in Beckett's play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern pass the time by impersonating other characters, engaging in word play, and remaining silent for long periods of time. These same two characters were also featured in a parody of Hamlet, the short comic play by W. S. Gilbert entitled Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Gilbert's play makes Rosencrantz and Guildenstern into central characters and alters the storyline of Hamlet. Which sentence from this passage explains what the main characters do in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead?
A>"Tom Stoppard's play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, draws on two previous theatrical works: Shakespeare's Hamlet and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot."
B>"As in Beckett's play, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern pass the time by impersonating other characters, engaging in word play, and remaining silent for long periods of time."
C>"These same two characters were also featured in a parody of Hamlet, the short comic play by W. S. Gilbert entitled Rosencrantz and Guildenstern."
D>"Gilbert's play makes Rosencrantz and Guildenstern into central characters and alters the storyline of Hamlet."

Verdich [7]

Answer:

The type of appeal presented in the passage is logos.

Explanation:

Logos is a type of rhetorical appeal that uses logic in order to convince the audience of something. Thus, the speaker or writer walks the audience through his ideas and evidence to the logical conclusion derived from them.

In this case, the writer affirms people must conserve water during a drought. Then, he moves on to say what people can do to save water, finishing with a convincing number: 1,000 gallons a year. What he did is show evidence of how effective the instructions he gave are. Logically, if they are effective, there is no reason to not follow them. Quite the contrary, since the evidence shows effectiveness, the audience will most likely start doing those actions.

What are differences between Hamlet play and 2009 movie?
castortr0y [4]

Answer: Mark brainliest.

Explanation:

Differences between Hamlet the Movie and the Play:

First of all, the play starts with the guards standing at the castle with Horatio. The guards and Horatio are waiting for the ghost of King Hamlet to arrive. The ghost arrives twice but doesn’t speak. They decide to tell Hamlet to see if he could speak to the ghost. The movie starts with the funeral of King Hamlet with Gertrude standing beside the coffin. Hamlet sprinkles dust over his father, the coffin is covered and Claudius puts his sword over the coffin. The director changed this part from the play because in the play they say that Hamlet came after his father’s funeral.

They were a lot of deleted lines for Ophelia during her madness making her look more like crazy. Also when Polonius and Ophelia spy on Hamlet, this is how he learns about Hamlets strange visit and about his madness vs. in the play Ophelia informs Polonius of Hamlets visit and apparent madness. In the movie when Hamlet arrives to Ophelia’s funeral she is laying on a white bed and they pull her in to the grave. In the play she was already in the grave and Hamlet testifies his love to her.
