I am writing this document today because I feel like I am oppressed and ignored at school. I believe that public schools should have teachers that care for their students. I should have the right to take a day out of school for being sick or for a family emergency and not have to worry about getting marked absent and have to worry about coming back to school and having a pile of work to do. I come to school to learn not to have to worry that if I don't get my grade up I'll fail or if i dont turn something in I'll be in trouble. I believe I have the rights and responsibilities as a student to get a good education and not have to worry about missing assignments because all that does is make me father behind in class because when I work on them I start to get behind on what i'm learning now because i can't pay attention to it.
I believe that the school has failed at what they do because they hire people who don't seem to care. I go to school to learn and if i don't have anyone to teach me then how will I be able to learn? A school should be paying attention to students and caring for them instead of not paying attention and letting any and everything happen in them. A school is supposed to be a place where kids should feel safe and not have to worry about getting hurt especially if it happens in their homes.
