Opsins are proteins that are found in the light-sensing cells in the human eye. Different opsin proteins are sensitive to differ

ent colors of light. The instructions for creating the type of opsin sensitive to red light are found on a gene known as OPN1LW, which is on the X chromosome.
A genetic mutation in the OPN1LW gene can lead to a form of color blindness that affects a person's ability to detect red light. However, women have two copies of the X chromosome, and they have normal color vision if only one copy contains the mutation.

Why do women who carry one copy of the mutated gene still have normal color vision?
A.
The non-mutated OPN1LW gene makes enough opsin to allow the cells to detect red light.
B.
The body detects that a mutation has taken place, so it relies on the other copy of the chromosome for instructions.
C.
The mutated OPN1LW gene is repaired by the non-mutated gene on the other chromosome.
D.
The cell is able to use proteins other than opsin to detect red light when not enough opsin is produced.

Biennial plants

Explanation:

This plant is a biennial, which means it will just take longer than a season to mature enough to produce flowers.

Since the Sweet William plant did not flower last year when it was planted and this year also it did not bud till the spring. So, we can assume that these plant will need atleast two seasons to mature hence they are biennials.

Depending on the life span, plants are classified as annuals (one season), biennials(two season) and perennials (more than two years).

kondaur [170]

Answer:

The Punnett square will look like this:

Rw Rw

Rw Rw

Explanation:

In order to have a white flower, both alleles must be recessive. A homozygous red flower must have two dominate alleles.

Well use (w) for white, and (R) for red.

The parent alleles are:

1 - ww

2 - RR

WILL MARK BRAINLIEST GIVE ME A 3-4 SENTENCE EXPLANATION OF WHAT IS PHOTOSYNTHESIS
Natalija [7]
Photosynthesis is a process plants and other organisms use to create energy. The energy from sunlight, glucose, water, oxygen, and carbon dioxide are used by the plant to photosynthesize. These chemicals work together within the plant and produce energy. Oxygen is a product of photosynthesis that benefits humans and animals. Photosynthesis is essential for most plants to live.
