V. early government in action. 1. explain 2 precedents set by george washington
Svetradugi [14.3K]
George Washington set many precedents (examples) while president. Two of the most important ones are:

1) Development of a Presidential cabinet- Washington's idea to have a group of individuals with different areas of expertise to help him make decisions is still used by the federal government. The cabinet plays an essential role in developing policies for the president.

2) Term limit- Washington served only two terms as president. Every single president has followed this example except Franklin D. Roosevelt. After Roosevelt was elected 4 times, the US Congress agreed to pass an amendment to limit the president to two terms (aka 8 years).
