Why are virsuses considered to be non living

Viruses, for one, can't reproduce on their own. They also don't need nutrients or oxygen. They also have RNA instead of DNA. All of these factors make viruses non-living things, existing only to hijack cells and force them to make copies of the virus and kill the host.

Viruses are kind of horrible.

Anyway, have a great night/day!

Answer:

Explanation:

1. a. Interphase is the phase of the cell cycle in which a typical cell spends most of its life. During interphase, the cell copies its DNA in preparation for mitosis.

b. The third phase is anaphase. This phase only takes about 0.8 percent of the cell cycle to complete, which is the shortest time required out of all the phases. During anaphase the sister chromatids, or the two identical parts of a chromosome, are pulled apart to opposite ends of the cell by the spindle fibers.

2. Mitosis is important for three main reasons: development and growth cell replacement and asexual reproduction.

  • Development and growth. After meiosis has produced a gamete, and this has fused with another gamete to form an embryo, the embryo grows using mitosis. ...
  • Cell replacement. ...
  • Asexual reproduction.

How traits are passed from one generation to the next-and sometimes skip generations-was first explained by Gregor Mendel. By experimenting with pea plant breeding, Mendel developed three principles of inheritance that described the transmission of genetic traits, before anyone knew genes existed.

The main source of food for Southern Resident killer whales is __.
tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

=) salmon

Explanation:

The primary cause of these orcas deaths is starvation. The southern residents—which include the J, K, and L-pods—survive mainly on Chinook salmon, another species in decline due to overfishing, hydroelectric projects, and the harbor seals that get to them before they make their way to Puget Sound
