(1) Same denominator method

Multiply top and bottom of each fraction by the denominator of the other.

To make the same denominator we will multiply top and bottom of each fraction by the denominator of the other.

$\frac{7\times 6}{8\times 6}$ and $\frac{5\times 8}{6\times 8}$

$\frac{42}{48}$ and $\frac{40}{48}$

That means, in the same denominator, more numerator value will be greater than the other.

$\frac{42}{48}$ > $\frac{40}{48}$

$\frac{7}{8}$ > $\frac{5}{6}$

(2) Same numerator method

Multiply top and bottom of each fraction by the numerator of the other.

$\frac{7}{8}$ and $\frac{5}{6}$

To make the same numerator we will multiply top and bottom of each fraction by the numerator of the other.
