When someone else has come to you who is going through a tragic situation like cancer treatment or being divorced or their daughter has been killed in a car accident. There are situations like this where it is better not to say anything at all, but rather listen and your presence is comforting more than any words that you could possibly say.

Definitely is sad/stressful situations if/as you comfort someone. For example: Let's say your friends pet just died, and they're really upset about it. You wouldn't tell them to get over it and it was bound to happen, you grieve with them. You let them know that you're there for them. Hope this helps!
