Answer:

Skin, tears, and mucus are part of the first line of defense in fighting infection. They help to protect us against invading pathogens. The skin creates a barrier against pathogens using hard proteins on its surface. The second line of defense is nonspecific resistance that destroys invaders in a generalized way without targeting specific individuals: Phagocytic cells ingest and destroy all microbes that pass into body tissues. For example, macrophages are cells derived from monocytes (a type of white blood cell). The third line of defense is specific resistance. This system relies on antigens, which are specific substances found in foreign microbes. Most antigens are proteins that serve as the stimulus to produce an immune response. The activation of T-cells by a specific antigen is called cell-mediated immunity.

OleMash [197]

Answer: A- Disruptive selection

Explanation: Disruptive selection increases genetic variation as the population begins to be more different when selection existing in nature chooses multiple phenotypes reaching the highest degree which each have particular benefits. However, they tend to make single-celled life form that has interposed characteristics to produce smaller offspring while allowing the organisms that have the highest degree of characteristics to produce more offspring.

Dafna1 [17]
The next thing for the nurse to do is to write down the normal breath sound in the patient's record. Soft, low pitched sound over the base of the lungs indicate normal breathing. The sound heard will be different if the lungs are infected. Thus, the lungs of the patient been examined is working perfectly; this should be documented in the patient's record.
