What happened to the matter and the energy that were in the watermelon as it decomposed.
vitfil [10]

Answer: A new study in the journal Biotechnology for Biofuels has found that those wasted watermelons could be turned into up to 2.5 million gallons of ethanol. It turns out that watermelon juice is a great base to make ethanol from -- it's full of sugar and yeast-friendly amino acids.

There are 2 types of worms: worms that eat at night (nocturnal) and
melamori03 [73]

Answer:

Darwin's Natural Selection Worksheet Read the following situations and fill in the chart for each of the four parts of Darwin's theory of

natural selection.

D There is a species of worms that eat at night (nocturnal) and ones that eat during the

day (diurnal). The birds eat during the day and seem to be eating ONLY the diurnal

worms. The nocturnal worms are in their burrows during this time. Each spring when

the worms reproduce, they have about 500 babies but only 100 of these 500 ever

become old enough to reproduce.

Select one form of renewable energy (solar, wind, biofuels, micro-hydro systems, or geothermal) find your own example. Research
Andrew [12]

Answer:

Renewable energy: solar radiation

Farm example: Farm located in Heggelbach, Germany

Explanation:

Solar radiation is one of the most used types of renewable energy. It proportionates light during the whole day (even during the cloudy days), which is received by solar photovoltaic panels. These photovoltaic panels are formed by solar cells that turn the solar light (photons) into electricity (electrons) through the photoelectrical process. Certain materials are capable of absorbing photons and releasing electrons, generating by this movement, electric current.

Solar energy is being used in many places to avoid using fossil fuels as energy sources and replace them. Specifically, in farms, this energy is used for equipment operation and machinery use.

Even the combination of solar panels and agriculture is taking place in the same land area or parcel. In the same place where solar panels are installed, and under them, vegetables are being grown. The advantage for certain vegetable species is that panels protect from excessive radiation or other adverse climatic conditions.

Example:

In 2018 in Heggelbach - Germany- a five meters structure of solar panels was installed on a farm. Under them, different crops were grown. The production under the photovoltaic system was highly superior to the traditional one. The efficiency of land use increased by 186% per hectare with the agro-photovoltaic system.

A population of wild-flowers was scored for flower color. There were 342 blue (BB) plants, 1622 violet (BR) plants and 797 red (
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

Since the homozygous have 2 alleles and heterozygous have one of each. The allelic frequency of blue will be calculated as;

Step 1 Freq B

Freq B = 2×no of Blue+ No of purple/2× total number of plants

No of blue plants(BB)=342

No of violet plants(BR)=1622

No of red plants(RR)=797

Frequency of allele B= 2×342+1622/5522

Frequency of allele B=0.4176

2. Freq red

Since allelic freq should add up to 1. freq for Red will be

1-0.4176=0.5824

also using the same formula used for Blue gives the same answer.

3.Expected number for Blue, Red and Violet

a)Expected frequency=p2=0.4176² =0.1744

Expected Blue plants= 2761*0.1744=481.5184

b)Expected frequency=q2=0.5824²=0.3392

Expected Red plants=2761*0.3392=936.5312

c)Expected frequency=2pq = 2*0.4176*0.5824 = 0.4864

Expected plants=2761*0.4864= 1342.9504
