C is the correct alternative.

Income distribution in America has always been a problem. Through the years, this hasn't changed, and income disparity is still a problem.

To put things in perspective, higher income groups get more of their income from variable sources like the stock market for example. That means that during the recession of 2007-2009, this group suffered a bigger loss than the lower income group, which didn't result in a lot of change in the inequality sector.

However, after the recession, the opposite is true: Lower income groups have struggled more than higher income groups, which makes the disparity nowadays even bigger. For this reason, alternative C is correct.

What does the poem of Harlem by Langston hughes mean?
bulgar [2K]
Harlem by Langston Hughes was written in 1951. Hughes addresses one of his most common themes in this poem - the limitations of the American Dream for African Americans. In the poem, Hughes starts by asking what happens to a dream deferred. He then compares the outcome of a deferred dream to a shriveled raisin, a festering sore, rotten meat, crusty sweets, and a heavy load. He is basically saying the outcome of a dream deferred is not that great.
