During exercise, a number of changes occur to maximise the body's oxygen intake. Firstly our heart rate/ pulse increases. This is due to the heart beating much faster and more forcefully to pump blood faster around the body.
Our breathing rate increases to intake more oxygen and exhale more CO2.

The smooth muscle in our trachea and bronchi relaxes to increase the lumen size thus making breathing easier. Adrenaline may also be released leading further amplifying these changes as well as reducing blood flow to the gut and thus peristalsis occurs at a much slower rate.

Also when we exercise we respire more, producing heat, which must be expelled. This may be done through sweating. Another physiological change that occurs is vasodilation of arterioles closer to the skin to allow more blood to flow closer to the skin, allowing more heat to radiate out.

Describe the function of sensory neurons. What do sensory neurons do in your body?
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

Answer in explanation.

Explanation:

Sensory neurons are nerve cells that are triggered by sensory input from your surroundings. Let's say you touch a hot object with your fingers. This causes sensory neurons to activate and transmit messages to the rest of the nervous system about what they've discovered (which is that the object is hot).

Chromists reproduction
Verdich [7]

The eukaryotic kingdom known known as Chromista is composed of single celled organisms among which of all the algae containing chlorophyll a and c. Most of the species belonging to this group are also photosynthetic.

Due to the vast number of species, some Chromistas have an asexual reproduction, whereas other reproduce sexually.

Asexual reproduction is achieved by the process of cellular division known as mitosis in which a parent cell divides into two identical daughter cells.

Sexual reproduction occurs through flagellated zoospores. Male gamets are produced by the antheridia, the male sex organ of algae, ferns, fungi etc. The haploid female gamets are produced through mitosis in oogonia. The joining of two gamets is called syngamy.

There are four levels of protein structure. These figures show primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary protein structure. W
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

C) Primary, tertiary and quaternary levels of protein structure

Explanation:

Primary structure; Covalent bond is present in form of peptide bond in the primary structuture of proteins. The amino acids are held together in the polypeptide chain by peptide bond.

Tertiary structure; Disulfide bonds are present between cysteine amino acids, that keeps the parts of polypeptide chain strongly attached to one another.

Quaternary structure; The Quaternary structure of protein is held together by hydrophobic interaction and disulfide bonds.

what do biologists study changes in amino acid sequence when trying to determine causes of genetic variation?
baherus [9]

Answer:

reason for studying human genetics is that it gives us a powerful tool for understanding and describing human evolution. At one time, data from physical anthropology (including information about skin color, body build, and facial traits) were the only source of information available to scholars interested in tracing human evolutionary history. Today, however, researchers have a wealth of genetic data, including molecular data, to call upon in their work.
