Today, Americans commemorate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November as a tribute to the dinner that took place in Plymouth in 1621 between the Wampanoag tribe and a group of settlers, who celebrated the autumn harvest.
Since 1863 President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed this day as a national holiday.
