Answer:

9.9%

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The probability of an event is the ratio of the size of the event space to the size of the sample space.

The size of the sample space is the total number of possible outcomes

The event space is the number of outcomes in the event you are interested in.

so

Let

x------> size of the event space

y-----> size of the sample space

so

P=\frac{x}{y}

Part 1) Find the probability that she selects an apple first

In this problem we have

x=3  ----> total number of apples

y=3+5+6=14  ---> total number of fruits

substitute

P=\frac{3}{14}

Part 2) Find the probability that then she selects an orange

In this problem we have

x=6  ----> total number of oranges

y=2+5+6=13  ---> total number of fruits

substitute

P=\frac{6}{13}

Part 3) Find the probability that she selects an apple, then an orange

Multiply both probabilities

P=(\frac{3}{14})(\frac{6}{13})=\frac{18}{182}=0.0989

Convert to percentage

0.0989*100=9.89\%=9.9\%

Answer:

Cary is wrong

Step-by-step explanation:

4* (6-4)= 4* 2=8

I think it is saying (8*2) divided by to, which in that case is 8,

but if it is asking 8 (2/2) then that would also be 8 I believe. I really hope this is correct and you have a great day :)

A rectangular field 50 meters in width and 120 meters in length is divided into two fields by a diagonal line. What is the lengt
DochEvi [55]

Answer:

E. 300

Step-by-step explanation:

A rectangle split in half diagonally yields 2 right triangles.

((For this problem, you are probably supposed to use the pythagorean theorem to find the diagonal length, and then calculate perimeter (length of fence around triangular field). In other words:

(sqrt( (50m)^2 + (120m)^2 )) + 50m + 120m)

))

By definition, the hypotenuse (diagonal) is the longest side.

This means that it must be longer than 120m.

If you add the 2 sides (50m + 120m), you get 170m.

Since the third side has to be longer than 120m, the answer _must_ be over 290m (170m + 120m).

300m is the only answer that fits.
