How does texas contribute to the united states? (history wise)
My name is Ann [436]

Spanish missionaries were the first European settlers in Texas, founding San Antonio in 1718. Hostile natives and isolation from other Spanish colonies kept Texas sparsely populated until following the Revolutionary War and the War of Mexican Independence, when the newly established Mexican government began to allow settlers from the U.S. to claim land there. This led to a population explosion, but dramatically reduced the percentage of the population with Mexican heritage, causing friction with the government in Mexico City. After several smaller insurrections, the Texas Revolution broke out, and the state became an independent nation in 1835. However, the newly formed Texas Republic was unable to defend itself from further incursions by Mexican troops, and eventually negotiated with the U.S. to join the union in 1845.

The “natural rights” referred to by Paine were first expressed by John
11111nata11111 [884]
They were first mentioned by the political philosopher John Locke. He was very influential for the founding fathers who based the ideas of rights that are self evident on his philosophy. According to him, the natural rights were those of life, liberty, and property, a bit different than what ended in the final documents.

What problem did Japanese sword makers have to resolve when creating a strong katana
Kazeer [188]

Answer:

they needed a sword that was both hard and flexible but would not bend or break

Explanation:

Japanese smiths solved this problem by making the core of the sword with a soft metal that wouldn't break.

A thick mixture of clay and charcoal powder is applied to the blade's upper sides and dull back edge, leaving the sword's primary edge only lightly coated so that it would be flexible.
