In 1882, the Confederate Army and the Union Army fought at the battle of Bull Run in Northern Virginia. General Robert E. Lee sent his Army to Manassas, to capture the Union supply center. The Confederates took what they needed and burned the deposit. On another attack on August 29, the Federals had to retreat and the outcome of the second battle of Bull Run placed the capital city of Washington in danger.
